Laces

You may choose two basic lace treatments for your corset. The first involves application of flat or gathered lace from 1 to 2" or more wide. This may be applied above or below the bottom edges, or flat against the corset (see top row of photos). Narrow rows of lace may be applied to a corset vertically above, below, or directly on the binding itself, or horizontally in one or more pairs (see pink floral corset with two rows per side of pink lace). The second involves placing flat lace yardage over the basic corset. This may be placed over the entire corset, over only the sides of the corset, or over only the front and back of the corset (see bottom row of photos). Note that a monochromatic lace scheme (same lace color as corset body, as in the pale pink corset) can be very elegant and understated, while a contrasting color of lace can provide dramatic visual results.  Standard lace itself may or may not be included in our listed price quotations; please inquire.. Some specialty narrow or flat yardage laces can be quite spectacular, but may entail an upcharge, as they can run up to $250 per yard or more.

Trims and Braids

Woven trims and braids can add an extra, special touch of unique glamour and "finish" to your corset, perfect for special occasion dressing if you care to stand out from the crowd with a truly individual look. For example, consider adding a row of braid separating different colors of fabric used on the underarm panels versus the front panels, or placed over the bone casings.   Trims and braids may include fringe, rows of feathers or chains, metal studs, rosettes and bows, sequins, rhinestones, silk petals or flowers, or beading, any of which may be applied to a corset vertically above, below, or directly on the binding itself (see purple satin corset), or horizontally in one or more pairs, much as lace trim may be applied.
