Bodice, Straps and Shoulder Treatments

Straps and other bodice and shoulder treatments may be made of fabric (including your corset fabric, chiffon, netting, or other fabric), fringe, rows of feathers or chains, rhinestones, flowers, or beading. They may be permanently attached to your corset, or made removable to change up the look of your ensemble. Frequently, brides and mature clients seen here, request straps, bodice or shoulder treatments to achieve a more modest effect when corseting as outerwear.

Lacing Ribbons Or Cord

Most corsets come laced standard in one of three types of lacing in black, ivory or white: (1) 5/8" wide single- or double-faced polysatin ribbon, (2) shoelace-like lacing cord, or (3) rolled satin cording. Any of these choices provide sturdy lacing options, and your chosen corsetmaker will deliver your corset with the lacing she or he prefers. However, for aesthetic or other reasons you may wish to change to another type of lacing. You can most likely purchase one of the above types of lacing at your local fabric store.

However, we are pleased to offer our clients three additional options in at least 15 colors or nuanced shades of colors. Please give  us your first and second choices of colors so that we may find the one most suitable to coordinate with your corset color:
     (1) the silkiest of fine polysatin Swiss double-faced 5/8" wide ribbon for $1.10 per yard
     (2) good quality polysatin ribbon for $.55 per yard
     (3) Silk 5/8" wide ribbon for !2.50 per yard.

In addition we offer black or white shoelace like lacing cord for $1 per yard. Shipping adds $4.00 plus CA sales tax if any on the total. To purchase one of the three above types of lacing, please send us your snug waist size, plus the number of grommets down one side of your corset in back. If you are ordering a new corset from us, simply specify what color and type of lacing ribbon or cord you wish installed in your corset for the aforementioned small additional fee.

Colors of Swiss double-faced ribbon that we normally stock include:  butter-cream, cream, hot pink, light pink, azalea (med. pink), cranberry, wine, purple (red), lilac, mauve, peach, light apricot, ginger, pumpkin, antique gold, aqua, spearmint, lime, apple green, olive green, royal blue, turquoise, deep turquoise, bright blue (surfside), teal, sable brown, brown. Other colors may be a special order but please inquire. You may request a sample swatch to color match, or permit us to choose the best color to coordinate with your corset fabric.
